Arlene A. Peterson, 96, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died January 28, 2018 at her home in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born August 29, 1921 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Henry C. and Dena (Lambertus) Aden.
Arlene grew up at Gothenburg and graduated with the class of 1939. She later attended Colorado A & M at Ft. Collins where she was a member of the Tri-Delta Sorority. She lived at Gothenburg and Jeffery Lake. She worked for many years in the Aden & Kampfe Store. She married O. Blaine Peterson on May 5, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church, they had five children - Stephen, Gregg, Kent, Kristi, and Kelly. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church and a 50 + year member of her Bridge Club.
She is survived by her husband Blaine Peterson of Gothenburg, NE, three sons, Steve (Ligia) Peterson of Gothenburg, NE, Gregg (Debbie) Peterson, Kent (Krystal) Peterson; two daughters, Kelly Schmeeckle, Kristi (Stanley) Combs; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Dena Aden, brother, Floyd Aden, and son-in-law, Ronnie L Schmeeckle.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, February 1, 2018,1:00 - 8:00 pm. with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at American Lutheran Church, Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
