Eva Ruth Slack, 94, of Gothenburg, passed away on January 3, 2010 at Hilltop Estates, Gothenburg, NE.
She was born on October 31, 1915 to Claude and Mary (Pettint) Couture in Dawson County, NE. She attended school in Gothenburg. On April 8, 1937 she married Kenneth Slack in Gothenburg, NE. To this union two sons were born Bill and Claude. Eva and Kenneth lived in Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Eva owned a restaurant and worked as a cook for many years. In 1972, Eva and Kenneth moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to be near her boys. While in Fort Collis she owned and operated her own Day Care. In 1992, Eva and Kenneth moved back to Gothenburg, Nebraska. She was member of the Ladies Aid at American Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her dogs, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Eva is survived by two sons - Claude (Judy) Slack of Gothenburg, NE, Bill (Pat) Slack of Windsor, CO; 11 grandchildren Cindy, Pam, Rhonda, Mark, Melodi, Kendra, Greg, Jeff, Sherri, Steve, Tracy; 23 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Donald Slack, brothers Ralph and Claude Couture, parents Claude and Mary Couture.
