Lorraine Dorothy Schmeeckle, 86, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died May 11, 2017 in Gothenburg, NE.  

She was born February 28, 1931 at Eustis, NE, daughter of Paul O Yeutter Sr. and Helen (Brockmeier) Yeutter.

Lorraine grew up on the family farm outside of Eustis, NE.   She graduated from Eustis High School.  Lorraine married Harold Douglas Schmeeckle on December 29, 1951. She joined him in a busy life of farming, ranching and seed business on a farm near Cozad.  Lorraine moved in to Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.  

Survivors include her daughter, Karen L Schmeeckle of Beverly Hills, MI; three grandchildren, Chad Schmeeckle of Lexington, KY, Christopher Schmeeckle of Cozad, NE, Gabriell Schmeeckle of Omaha, NE; great-grandson, Andrew R. Schmeeckle of Cozad, NE; daughter-in-law, Cindy Schmeeckle of Cozad, NE; sister, Marge Block of Gothenburg, NE two sister-in-laws, Jan Yeutter of Eustis, NE, Janet Yeutter of Branson, MO; along with many extended family and friends. 

Lorraine was preceded in death by husband, Harold D. Schmeeckle in 1987, son, Douglas L Schmeeckle in 2015, brother, Paul O Yeutter, Jr., brother, Eldon Yeutter, her parents, and brother-in-law Arnold Block. 

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, May 16, 2017, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. with the family present from 6-8. 

Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2002 27th Street, Gothenburg, NE, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 am..  

Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
